Alan J. Kebert

Alan J. Kebert, age 70, of Meadville, passed away on February 1, 2018 at his place of residence.  He was born May 1, 1947 in Meadville, the son of the late Albert Kebert and Martha Hank Kebert.  He married Dorothy Stewart on August 15, 1981.  She survives.             Alan had retired from the city of Meadville as an equipment operator.  He was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the US Navy and also served in the Army Reserves.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and stock car racing.             Alan is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kebert of Meadville, two daughters: Stephanie Smith (Durant) of New York, Kelly Kebert and husband Scott Johns of Meadville, one son: Michael Kebert  and wife Mandy of Meadville, three grandchildren: Christopher Root of Meadville, Lillianna Kebert of Meadville, Daniel Smith of New York, one sister: Kathy (Kathleen) Freeman and husband Patrick of Meadville, one brother: Charles Kebert and wife Ronnie Laine of  Guys Mills, one niece: Becki Pine, three nephews: Jeff Freeman, Ryan Freeman, and Frank Teed, and Pat Root of Meadville who was a family friend and was very close to Alan.             Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Albert Kebert, daughter Rebecca Kebert, aunts & uncles, and Grandparents.             Visitation will be from 2 until 3 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Hatheway – Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville.  Vietnam Veterans Post 52 will conduct military honors.             The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Hospice of Crawford County and Active Aging.             Please sign Alan’s online obituary at www.hatheway-tedesco.com             Arrangements are entrusted to the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street Meadville, PA 16335.
