Alan ‘George’ G. Weigle Sr., 81, of Centerville, PA passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Arista Care Nursing Home. He was born on June 7, 1937.
He attended a one room school house in Townville. He was drafted at the age of 18 in the Army as a paratrooper and served 2 years. George worked fulltime at his own business as a contractor. He did roofing, stone work, fountains and other jobs.
George enjoyed fishing, shooting, boxing, playing cards and at one time in his life, he was a race car driver. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and other family members.
The love of his life, Betty Bauer passed away in 1988.
Survivors include 5 children; Cynthia Alabran and her husband, Robert Alabran of Cochranton, PA; Phyllis Martinez and her husband, Ronnie Martinez of Albuquerque, NM; Alan Weigle Jr. of Centerville, PA; Theresa Weigle of Erie, PA and Robert Weigle and his wife, Sarah Weigle of Centerville, PA; 3 brothers; Earl, Ed and John; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 4 great –great grandchildren; and his significant other Carol Bell.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Kate Brockway and Robert Weigle; his grandparents, Fred and Julia Rodgers; three brothers, Bob Weigle, Donny Brown and Jim Weigle and a two sisters, Dorothy and Sally.
Per his wishes, there will be no services.
