Alberta Prall

Alberta A. Prall, 85, of Meadville passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 with family by her side, from lung complications after aneurism surgery.

Alberta was born on December 5, 1934 in Gibsonia, PA, the third oldest of seven children, to the late Cecil A. Peat and Vera M. (Milroy) Peat. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years in 2014, Charles “Charlie” J. Prall Jr. whom she married on May 26, 1956.

After graduating from Meadville High School in 1953 she was employed by Talon before starting a family, and then later reentered the workforce at the Meadville Tribune which she retired from in 1994 to spend time with her family and golf with her friends. While working at the Tribune she completed an accounting degree program at Saegertown, PA.

She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, belonged to a bowling league with her friends for many years, enjoyed watching NASCAR while rooting for her favorite driver, “Kyle Petty”. She enjoyed receiving flowers as gifts, and in her earlier years planting flowers in the gardens around her home. She loved all animals especially her many cats over the years. She spent time at home watching her favorite Hallmark Christmas movies, especially “The Nine Lives of Christmas”. She was a beautiful, generous, and kind person, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Wife and was considered a good friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her six children, Cheryl “Cherie” Graham of North Blenheim, NY, Charles “Joe” J. Prall III, and his wife Cindy, of Meadville, Daniel L. Prall and his wife Patricia “Pat” of Guys Mills, Kenneth D. Prall of Meadville, Julie M. Bihler and her husband Tom of Bemus Point, NY, and Michael A. Prall of Meadville. Also surviving a sister in-law Mary Peat;  twelve grandchildren Kevin, Brian (Susie), Keith (Missy) Graham; Jeremy, Courtney, Jacob Prall; Kelly (Jason) King, Kyle (Ashlee), Katie, Kasey, Prall; TJ and Bradley Bihler; eight great grandchildren Jordyn & Jaxson, Emaline & Solomon, Larkin & Avyn, Connor and Grace; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Alberta was preceded in death by four brothers John, Bob, Roger and George Peat; two sisters Mary Dennis and Evelyn Miller; father/mother in-law Charles J. Prall Sr. and Mable M. (Douglas) Prall; brother/sister-in-law’s Sam Dennis, Bob Williams, George Miller, Donald Prall, JoAnn (Bob) Youngblood, Everyl (Chuck) Ketcham Sr., Betty (Bill) Ketcham, Dorothea (Bill) Bode, Melba (Ernie) Ruby; Sue (Church) Peat, and a son-in-law Barry Graham.

Family and friends may call on Friday 6 to 9p.m. and Saturday 10 to 11a.m. prior to the funeral at 11a.m. at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, with Reverend Marshall Lillie officiating. Covid guidelines will be followed.

Burial will take place at Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Township, following the funeral service.
