Alden Earl Hills

Alden Earl Hills, age 87 of Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Conneautville, PA and formerly of Meadville, PA passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Rolling Fields. He was born July 2, 1928 in Meadville, PA the son of the late Marshall and Hazel Barnett Hills. He married Jeanne Elizabeth First on January 16, 1949. She survives. He served his apprenticeship at Talon, was a foreman at Starn Tool, and was a partner at AC machine. He founded Syst-A-Matic Tool & Design in 1978 and retired after 38 years. He served as Past President of the NTMA (National Tool and Machine Association). Alden also served as a Vernon Township Supervisor, having retired in May of 2015. He was a member of First Christian Church, Meadville, PA where he served as a Deacon and Elder and was a Sunday School Teacher. Alden was involved in the Brazil Missions and supported many missionaries. He liked hunting, fishing, wood working and especially loved spending time at his property in Mosiertown with his family and friends.                 Alden is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jeanne Elizabeth Hills at Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Conneautville, PA, a daughter: Susan Elizabeth Miller and her husband Ken of Meadville, PA, two sons: Bruce Alden Hills and his wife Brenda of Conneautville, PA, and Jeffery Lee Hills and his wife Robbin of Lincoln, IL, seven grandchildren: Jason Hills, Jennifer Hills Yania, Monica Miller Heisey, Dawn Miller Fronce, Shawn Hills, Samuel Hills and Kendra Miller, 13 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Marshall Lee Hills and his wife Bea of Aurora, Indiana, and Harold Hills of Meadville, PA. In addition to his parents, Alden was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Lindsay Ann Hills, his brother-in-law: David First and his sister-in-law: Virginia Hills. Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA. All are welcome to attend the funeral service at 11 AM on Friday at the First Christian Church, 503 N Main Street, Meadville, PA with Roger Smith, associate minister and Jason Hills, Alden’s grandson officiating.
