Being a grammar school graduate of St. Mary's of the Mount, Pittsburgh, at age 14, she attended to raising for younger cousins at Canton, OH, whose mother had passed. Following employment in Pittsburgh at the age of 17 with Kaufmann's Department Store and later with Duquesne Light Co., she married James A. Ellison on September 17, 1940; whom she met while ice skating at Duquesne Gardens. Having been a lifelong Christian she attended to regular participation at St. Agatha's RC Church from 1965 to present. She was an original planner and contributor helping initiate the beginning in 1954 of Conneaut Lake's Our Lady Queen of America RC Church. With the debilitating illness of her husband in 1963, she went back to work at age 50 at Spencer Hospital from which she retired in 1979. Proud of a 60 year accident-free driving span, she deserves recognition for several years volunteerism with Meals on Wheels and past service with the Vernon Township Election Board. She was also know to yield crafty management at many 55 plus card games.
