Audrey J. Lavery

Audrey Joan Poux Lavery of Wesbury, Meadville, PA passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019. She was born at home in Meadville on December 11, 1923, to the late Achille J. Poux Sr. and Catherine Eckert Poux. She married John Girard Lavery of Titusville, PA on September 26, 1944, he preceded her in death on April 24, 1978. Audrey graduated from Randolph High School in Guys Mills, PA in 1941. She worked as a secretary on the Erie-Lackawanna and Conrail Railroad and retired in 1984. Audrey is survived by two sons, Daniel Lavery and his wife, Pauline of York, PA, Michael Lavery and his wife, Maggie of Mechanicsburg, PA; one daughter, Catherine (Kitty) Lavery Schwartz and her husband, Daniel of Goldens Bridge, NY; eight grandchildren, twins Scott Lavery and Sean Lavery and his wife, Jami of York, PA, twins D.J. Lavery and Colleen Lavery Cieka and her husband, Tom of York, PA: Jesse Lavery and his wife, Eryn of Titusville, PA, Jenny Lavery and her husband, Andre Martin of Austin, TX, twins David Schwartz of New York City and Cara Schwartz of Baltimore, MD; and seven great-grandchildren, Abigail and Allison Lavery, Robin, Molly and Jonathon Ciecka, Cash, Ella and Quinn Lavery. She is also survived by six step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Audrey is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: Victor, Richard, William and Achille Jr., and one sister Marian Poux Baringer. According to Audrey’s wishes, she decided to donate her body to research in the hopes that what they may learn would benefit future generations.  Final cremation will take place with interment at St. Hippolyte’s Cemetery in Frenchtown with her beloved husband John.
