Barbara H Filegar Jackson

Barbara H. (Filegar) Jackson, age 76 of Meadville, PA lost her 13 month battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Marquette House, with her daughters by her side. She was born on July 28, 1936 in Meadville, PA the daughter of the late Lewis and Gertrude Soyka Filegar. After graduation from high school, Barbara was a legal secretary for Attorney Victor Miceli. She retired from Talon, Plant 7 after many years of service. She enjoyed the spring time, working and taking care of her gardens, and especially loved her family and her dogs. Barbara is survived by two daughters, Cathy Hall of Meadville, PA and Cheryl Jackson of Meadville, PA; a son, Steven Jackson and his wife Diane of Rockingham, NC; five grandchildren, Joshua Hall, Alexis Hall, Kari Jackson, Allison Jackson, and Daniel Jackson; a brother, that she looked up to and adored, John Q. Filegar and his wife, Marge of Meadville, PA., two nieces, Pam Cronin, of Meadville, and Brenda Jones of Erie, PA., two nephews, Mark Filegar, Meadville area, and Donny Jackson, of Erie, PA In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her former husband and long time friend, Ronald Luman Jackson, who died, April 29, 2013, and an infant son, Daniel Jackson. There will be no calling hours and the memorial service will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
