Barbara Hopkins

Barbara Hopkins, 52, of Meadville,PA passed away Saturday April 6, 2019 at AristaCare. Barbara was born March 10, 1967 in Meadville to the late Harold and Betty Steele Ashcraft. On March 24, 2000 she married Dennis Hopkins, he survives.
Barbara was a graduate of Meadville Senior High School, the Class of 1985. Through the years, Barbara worked at Burger King, as a crossing guard, Vallonia Industries, Red Lobster, Giant Eagle, and the Auxiliary Police.
She participated in many organizations: Oasis, Drop In Center, Special Olympics and LEAP. Barbara was also very active in making crafts and entering them into the Crawford County Fair which resulted in multiple ribbons.
Amongst her husband Dennis, Barbara is survived by her 2 sisters Kim (Craig) Holland of Fort Myers, FL and Sue (Jack) Smith of Meadville, PA. She had 2 nephews Tanner Smith of Buckhannon, West Virginia and Trevor Smith of Meadville, PA and her caregiver and friend of 20 years Jamie Hurlbert.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Betty Ashcraft and her grandparents.
The family will be having a private service. A Celebration of Life to be held on Monday April 15, 2019 from 1PM to 3PM at The ARC 222 Chestnut Street Meadville, PA 16335.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The ARC of Crawford County 222 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335. The family would like to give a special thanks to Southern Care Hospice.
