Bernadette Evanovich

December 26, 1950 — February 14, 2018

Bernadette Evanovich, age 67 of Conneaut Lake, PA and Ft. Myers, FL passed away on February 14, 2018 in Pittsburgh, PA.             She was born December 26, 1950 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of Francis X. Opferman and Caroline (Cotiaux) Opferman.  She married Melvyn Evanovich on June 7, 1986, he survives.             She attended Baldwin High School.  She received a scholarship to attend Carnegie Mellon University for graphic design.  She was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a business degree.  She worked as a respiratory therapist at Jefferson Hospital and was in medical sales.             She was of the Catholic faith.  Bernadette was an avid runner and golfer.              In addition to her husband, Melvyn Evanovich, she is survived by three children;  Dr. Michael “Chris” Lyons and his wife, Chris of Poland, Ohio, Erin Danchise and her husband, Scott of Warren, Ohio  and Peter Evanovich of Meadville, PA; three grandchildren, Abigail Lyons, Sophia Danchise and Samuel Danchise; one sister, Carol Reel of Natrona Heights, PA; one brother-in-law, John Reel of Indiana Township, PA; and one sister-in-law, Mylene Zager of North Huntingdon, PA.  She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.             In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Opferman.             A private funeral was held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Catholic Church in Conneaut Lake, PA with Father David Carter.  Interment was at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.              Memorial Contributions can be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley, 2805 Salt Springs Road, Youngstown, Ohio 44509 or Angels for Animals, 7750 West South Range Road, Canfield, Ohio 44406 (angelsforanimals.org).
