Betty J. Harvey

Betty J. Harvey, age 85 of Meadville, Pa passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at her residence. She was born on May 12, 1928 in South Phillipsburg, Centre County, PA, the daughter of the late Charles Irwin and Mary Jane (Bainey) Smith. She married Robert Allen Harvey Sr. on May 6, 1947. He survives. She had been employed at the Parkway Diner, Lucas Shirt Laundry, the Meadville Laundry and Dry Cleaning and at the former David Meade. She also was a care giver to a lady in her home. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Allen Harvey Sr. of Meadville, PA; five children, Robert Harvey and his wife, Sandy of Saegertown, PA, William Harvey of Texas, Sandra Stainbrook and her husband Jeff of Meadville, PA, Wanda Hopkins and her husband Don of Meadville and Michael Harvey of Meadville, PA, thirteen grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law; Charles and Ilene Harvey of Phillipsburg, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Edward Harvey, a grandson, Kristopher James Stainbrook, a son-in-law, Ronald Hutchinson, great-granddaughter, Lexi Langer, Granddaughter-in-law, Lauri Harvey, five brothers, Charles Smith, Winfeild Smith, Donald Smith, James Smith, and Bobby Smith, and by five sisters, Margaret, Eva, Evelyn, Hannah, and Hilda. Family and friends are welcome to call on Friday from 1 PM until time of the funeral service at 2 PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA, with Pastor David Brumagin, of Meadville Medical Center Pastoral Care, officiating . Inurnment will be in the Venango Cemetery.
