Betty Mccloskey

Betty McCloskey passed away on 24 June, 2021 in Meadville, Pennsylvania at the age of 89.  She was a lifelong resident of Munhall, Pennsylvania.  She was born 15 July 1931 at home in Munhall. Betty was the daughter of Nellie and William Muir.

Betty worked for US Steel in her early years, and then was a stay at home mom as she raised her three children.  She was an energetic person and could not sit still.  She went back to work once the children were raised and worked for a temp service that turned into a second career as a type setter at Dip craft MFG.

Betty was a people person. She was there for those that were in need of a helping hand.  Her friends were truly lifelong friends. She was generous and ready to assist and support family if a need became known to her.

She is survived by her three children, Patrick and (Dee) McCloskey, Linda and (Joe) Gray, Dennis and (Cathy) McCloskey; eight grandchildren, Mike and (Laura), Megan and (Eli), Neal and (Jess), Nick and (Breighanna), Cody and (Nicole), Scott, Kimberly, Halle and (Jeremy) and her thirteen great -grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent J. McCloskey; her parents, Nellie and William Muir; her brother, Alex Muir and an unnamed sister that died at birth.

Funeral and Burial services will be held at the Jefferson Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel Pleasant Hills, 401 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Monday 28 June 2021.  Viewing is from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with a service from 2:00 to 2:30pm.
