Betty Jane Stallard died March 1, 2021 at the Marquette Hospice House in Meadville, PA from complications of a stroke. She was the daughter of Sherman Sylvester and Ella Louise Bell Stilley and was born 25 July 1929 at Conneaut Lake Park in Summit Township, Crawford County, PA. She married Donald Q. Stallard on 29 August 1948 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Conneaut Lake, PA by the Reverend Donald Modisher.
As a girl, Betty attended Conneaut Lake schools and graduated in 1947. She had worked at Molded Fiberglass in Linesville, PA and the Ohio Rubber Company of Conneautville, PA. She retired on 1 August 1987.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Conneaut Lake for eighty years, where she taught Sunday School and served on other committees. She was a Past Noble Grand and held several offices of the Rebekah IOOF Lodge of Conneaut Lake. She was a Past Matron and served in other Stations and offices of Golden Crown Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Meadville, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Q. Stallard on 17 December 2012; her brother, Richard on 25 September 1992; her sister, Ruth in 1925; her sister, Lena Eva Larsen on 8 February 2008; her sister, Ella Louise Hollabaugh on 26 February 2008; her sister, Margaret Anna Nodler on 3 October 2011 and her sister, Zella Louise Joslin on 1 January 2018.
Betty is survived by her sister, Virginia Maze of Youngsville, PA and her brother-in-law, James Stallard of Wilmington, NC; her four children, Linda Geraine Calvert and her husband, Robert of Meadville, PA; Jacqueline Lee Sherry and her husband, William of Conneaut Lake, PA; William Curtis Stallard and his wife, Elaine of Conneaut Lake, PA; and Donald James Stallard of Conneaut Lake, PA. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Mark Calvert (Rachel), Sean Agnew (Becky), Alice Agnew (Scott Mellon), Jeremy Stallard (Lynn), Kathryn King (Jason), James Stallard, Elizabeth Wood (Chris), Heather Markis (Mike), Matthew Stallard (Lisa), Rebecca Garcia (Sergio), Alicia Hart (James) and Taylor Stallard; 34 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and at least 3 others who called her grandma.
Friends are invited to call on Friday March 5, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. 2 nd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316. An Eastern Star service will be performed by Golden Crown Chapter at 6:45 p.m. Calling will also take place on Saturday March 6, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 240 N. 3 rd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316. A service will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Russ Hixson officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville, PA.
