Betty B. (Jarrett) Tingley passed away on Friday, May 8, after reaching the age of 90 years old.
Betty was born on September 29, 1929 in Rew, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Marshall and Grace Jarrett. She was a 1948 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
Betty lived a fulfilling life as a wife, mother, and grandmother.
On June 16 th , 1951, she married the love of her life, Geneva native LeRoy Louis Tingley, whom she met at a New Year’s Eve dance. Once married, she moved to Geneva, PA where she lived the rest of her life.
She dearly loved her family who have many fantastic memories of time at her home for holiday functions, warm pies and cinnamon rolls, and a place to rest. She was proud to be the mother and grandmother to her family; she has been a major presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Betty loved dancing. Socially, she enjoyed playing in her card club and meeting friends and family for lunch. She was a busy lady always ready for the next adventure.
Betty worked in the Conneaut Lake School District cafeteria for 25 years. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Geneva, PA.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband in 2008. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Betty is survived by her children, Cindy (Bruce) Nicolls of DuBois, Reggie (Betsy) Tingley and Randy (Penny) Tingley of Conneaut Lake; 7 grandchildren: Andrea Taylor, Ryan Shuffstall, Jenel (Jarett) Burger, Lexie (Dean) Heagy, Derek Tingley, Trevor (Kaelyn) Tingley, Lucas Tingley; great grandchildren: Jillian Taylor, Nathan Taylor, Laina Geiger, Bella Burger, Wyatt Heagy, Hudson Burger, and Pearl Heagy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Betty’s name to Faith United Methodist Church, 15439 State Highway 285, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316 or Greenwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue, 15444 State Highway 285, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
