Betty M. Walker

Betty M. Walker, age 90, of Meadville, PA, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Caring Place, Franklin, PA. She was born on May 21, 1922 at Franklin, the daughter of the late Herbert and Isabelle McClelland Tarr. She was married to Homer Walker. He preceded her in death. Betty was a member of the Clintonville Presbyterian Church. She loved making crafts, especially quilting and hook rugs, and enjoyed gardening. She loved her dog Maggie. Surviving are six step-children and several step grandchildren, Three sisters, Anna Margaret Warner and her husband Dudley, of Meadville, PA., Joanne Latshaw and her husband, Arden of Cranberry, PA, and Patricia Hayes of Franklin, PA, a brother, Robert Tarr and his wife, Jean of Sandy Lake, PA, two sister-in-laws, Lolly Tarr of Polk, PA., and Gladys Tarr. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Betty was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd Tarr, Herbert "Mike" Tarr and Wilbur Tarr, and a sister-in -law, Joan Tarr. Calling hours will be held at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA. on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon, with Rev. David Brumagin, Pastoral Care of Meadville Medical Center, officiating. Interment will be in the Lupher's Cemetery.
