Bonny Fern Smith

Bonny Fern Smith, 74, of Meadville, PA passed away suddenly at her residence on October 9, 2018.  She was born December 11, 1943 in Little Valley, NY, the daughter of the late Roy Boardman and Eleanor Skinner Boardman.  Bonny was a daycare provider for over 40 years and an advocate for younger children’s education.    She was also the owner/operator of a few small businesses in the area.  Bonny enjoyed crafting, quilting, painting, ceramics, floral arranging and sewing.  Bonny had also been involved with the Women’s Club and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by four daughters; Vicky Sue Petruolo of Meadville; Linda Sue Spencer and her husband, Dan of Saegertown; Sandy Sue Nuhfer and her husband, David of Edinboro; and Dusti Sue Houser and her husband, Stephen of Meadville; nine grandchildren; Jake Petruolo and his fiancé, Kati Adams of Edinboro, Sara Petruolo of Edinboro; Dan Spencer and his wife, Carrie of Connecticut, Sean Spencer and his wife, Katy of Saegertown, Tina Spencer and her fiancé, Harley Hardin of Cambridge Springs, Tom Nuhfer of Florida, John Nuhfer and his fiance, Hannah Perry of Edinboro, Jim Nuhfer of Colorado; Sam Nuhfer of New Mexico;  and six great grandchildren; Dan and Bennett Spencer; Emma, Rylan, and Addisyn Spencer and Lilly Nuhfer.  She is further survived by one brother, Steve Boardman and his wife, Leticia Agustin of the Phillipines; a sister-in-law, Sue Boardman of New York and a niece, Lori Heim of New York.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Terry and Clark Boardman and a son-in-law, Steve Petruolo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Saegertown American Legion on October 28, from 1-4pm.
