Carol Kightlinger

Carol L. Kightlinger, age 68, of Conneaut Lake lost her courageous battle with ALS on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Meadville on August 30, 1951 to the late Cortland C. and Dorothy (Bonzer) Chilson. She married Thomas Kightlinger on November 20, 1970.  He survives.

Carol graduated from Meadville High School in 1969.  She then attended The Wilmar Beauty School on Water St. in Meadville.  She worked as a hairstylist at Mr. Carl’s and then went on to be the owner and operator of Together Hair Styling for 42 years.

Carol was of the Christian Faith.

She was a member of Station 3 Conneaut Lake VFD, Station 5 Conneaut Lake Park Fire Hall VFD, Vernon Central Hose, American Legion Post III, Pymatuning Sportsman’s Club and the Vernon YMCA.  She enjoyed playing bingo, attending the classes at the Vernon YMCA, swimming at the LECOM pool and loved to bike on trails.

In addition to her husband Kite, she is survived by two sons ,Thomas Kightlinger Jr. of Conneaut Lake and Cortney Kightlinger of Conneaut Lake;  one grandchild, Morgan Kightlinger and her boyfriend, Jackson Ross of Birmingham, AL; two  sisters, Gail Peterson and her husband ,Glenn of Meadville and Jeannie Trudell  and her husband, Dona of Conneaut Lake;  one brother,  Carter Chilson  and his wife, Leslie of New York  and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her teenage sister, Betty Jane Chilson.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Dickson Funeral Home 130 N. 2 ^nd St. Conneaut Lake, PA 16316 from 3-6 p.m. There will be a service at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m
