Carol Scherf-Cholak

Carol Scherf Cholak, age 74, of Meadville, PA passed away at home on Friday April 24, 2026. She was born on November 21, 1951 in Lancaster, OH to the late Paul H. and Patricia (Pease) Scherf. She married Dennis Cholak on December 19, 2019. He survives.

Carol graduated from Meadville High School in 1973. She went on to earn her BA in Journalism at the University of Florida and her BA in English at Kent State University. She worked as a TV reporter through the United States and also as a magazine editor. She was of the Lutheran faith.

Carol was a member of DAR. She enjoyed kayaking, swimming and gourmet cooking. She loved to debate and she was a brilliant elocutionist.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her sister, Chris Scherf of Chicago, IL; her brothers, Dick Scherf of FL and Paul Scherf, Jr. of CA and a special niece, Morgan Gusmano.

There will be no public services.
