Catherine Ellen Kardosh Hubbard, age 92 of Conneautville, PA and formerly a life-long resident of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community after residing there since June 2011. She was born October 13, 1921 in Summer Hill Township, Conneautville, PA the first child of the late Joseph and Edith Marie Camp Kardosh. She married Robert "Bob" Hubbard on March 23, 1944. He passed away in June of 2002. Catherine was a graduate of Conneautville High School in 1940 and the Ora Jean Beauty Academy. She and her husband, Robert "Bob" Hubbard made their home at Conneaut Lake. She operated Catherine's Beauty Shop in their home on the East Side for over 50 years, where she made many new friends. Upon her husband's passing in June 2002, Catherine moved to Townville and lived with her daughter and son in law, Barb and Ron. Catherine was a member of the Norrisville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Hayfield Grange #800, Saegertown, PA. She loved her garden, flowers, baking and cooking. She exhibited many of her flowers and baked goods at the Crawford County Fair for over 50 years. She also loved to quilt and sew for hours. She especially enjoyed the time she spent and the companionship of her dogs, Lucky and Boomer. Catherine is survived by two daughters; Barb Yochum and her husband, Ron of Townville, PA, and Mary Ellen Wilkinson and her husband Dan of Conneaut Lake, PA, and a son; David Hubbard and his wife, Jill of Conneaut Lake, PA, five grandchildren; Kara Hubbard Bechtel, Kory Hubbard, Doug Wilkinson, Mark Wilkinson, and Todd Wilkinson, and four great-grandchildren, a brother; Frank Kardosh and his wife, Alice of Conneautville, PA, a sister-in-law; Nancy Kardosh of Conneautville, PA and a very special sister-in-law, Karen Kardosh of Harmonsburg, PA who Catherine traveled with on many occasions to Florida. Catherine is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to call on Monday from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Dickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N Second Street, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316 Family and friends are welcome to attend the funeral service at 3 PM on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor David Brumagin, officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Cochranton Cemetery, Cochranton, PA.
