Charles Cornell

Charles H. Cornell, age 93, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away peacefully at home on Sunday July 21, 2024. He was born on March 21, 1931 in Meadville, PA to the late Charles S. and Gertrude I. (Brown) Cornell.  He married Naomi Hall Ferry on July 29, 1966.  She preceded him in death on October 31, 2022.

Charles proudly served in the 112th Infantry Heavy Mortar as a PFC for the US Army.  He then worked at the BrakeShoe/Abex, Ott’s Radio & TV, Flick’s (he was the “Antenna Man”) and then Wal-Mart. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and boating.

He is survived by his 5 daughters; Sharon (Gary) Yost of Cochranton, PA, Coleen Roy of Brook Park, OH, Sonja Hudson of Riverview, FL, Cindy (Craig) Gray of Corry, PA, Coral Hudson (Ken Anderton) of Conneaut Lake, PA, Rhonda Lambing (Tracy Singleterry) of Conneaut Lake, PA and one son; Kris Cornell (Julie Dillaman)  of Conneaut Lake, PA; 15 grandchildren, Josh (Corinne) Yost, Barb (Sean) Battin, Steven Roy, Adam, Ben (Margerita) and Michael Gray, Ashley (James) Tolbert, Michael, Jesse (Ally) and Pat Anderton, Morgan Cornell, Amber and Kyle Lambing, Cody (Courtney) Cornell and Jayden Cornell and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Naomi, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacqueline Caszatt and son-in-law, Robert Caszatt; son-in-law, George Roy; his stepson, Arthur Hudson and 3 brothers, Walter Cornell, Robert Cornell and LeRoy Cornell.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday July 27, 2024 from 11 am – 1 pm with a funeral service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Cindy M. Gray officiating at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. 2nd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.   Charles will be laid to rest beside his wife at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by Vietnam Vets Post #52.
