Charles F. “Chuck” Palmer Jr. age 66, of Meadville, PA passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born January 24, 1950 in Meadville, PA the son of the late Charles R. Palmer Sr. and Virginia M. Schwabenbauer Palmer. He married Barbara Burlingham on November 27, 1971. She survives. He was a 1969 graduate of Meadville High School. He had attended Junior Hartford College in Bel Air, Maryland. He was a car detailer at Community Chevrolet in Meadville, PA and had worked at other car dealerships as well, over the years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Meadville, PA. Charles helped start the Little Gridders Football program along with Alan Pepicelli and others. He had been involved with the program for 38 years and had even traveled to Moscow. He was a very good football player during his high school years. Charles had played softball for many years under ICA. He served as an umpire for the Sertoma Club, and also played baseball and basketball. He was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time shooting his gun. Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara Palmer of Meadville, PA a sister: Carolyn Whiteman and her husband Donald of Linesville, PA, a brother: John Palmer and his wife Katherine of Meadville, PA a sister-in-law: Twila Palmer of Meadville, PA. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Palmer. A memorial service will be held at St. Pauls Reformed Church on June 18 at 1:00 PM.
