Cindy O'Day

Cindy O'Day, 64, of Knox, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at UPMC Northwest Hospital. By her side were two of her beloved caregivers, Laura Bish, who was like a second mother to Cindy, and Rob Miller, whom Cindy affectionately referred to as “her husband.”

Cindy was born on January 14, 1962, the daughter of Thomas and Ruth (Hart) O'Day, both of whom preceded her in death.

Cindy had a special love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, something she continued to do for as long as she was able. She also loved planning meals, going to Burger King, and, of course, getting ice cream. Cindy was a devoted football fan who enjoyed watching the games and picking the winners—and she had quite a talent for making the right picks.

For many years, Cindy made her home in Knox with Point of Caring, where the caregivers and staff became much more than those who cared for her, they became her second family. Together, they created countless memories and shared in the everyday things that brought Cindy happiness. Her Point of Caring family treasured their years with her and the special personality she brought into their lives.

Cindy shared a particularly special friendship with Alyssa Cramer, whom she considered her “best friend.” Alyssa had a wonderful way of bringing a smile to Cindy's face, even on the days when she was feeling down. Cindy also shared special bonds with Laura Bish and Rob Miller, whose love, companionship, and care meant so much to her and her family throughout the years.

Cindy had a way of touching the hearts of those around her and was loved by so many who had the privilege of knowing and caring for her. Her family is especially grateful for the love and devotion shown to Cindy by her Point of Caring family, who gave her not simply a place to live, but a home filled with friendship, laughter, companionship, and love.

Cindy is lovingly remembered by her brother, Greg O'Day and his wife, Betty, of Atlantic, Pennsylvania; and her sister, DeeDee Morian and her husband, Jason, of Atlantic, Pennsylvania.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Suzanne O'Day; Thomas O'Day and his wife, Paige; Shane O'Day; Taylor Sada and her husband, Scott; and Peyton Schlosser and her husband, Jacob; as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews, Piercten O'Day, Brody O'Day, Marlee Conner, Harrison Conner, Thatcher Conner, Rowan O'Day, and Holden O'Day.

Cindy will be deeply missed by her family, her Point of Caring family, and the many people whose lives were made brighter simply by knowing her. The love, laughter, friendships, and memories she leaves behind will be treasured for years to come.
