Clair L. Koehler, age 92, of Meadville, formerly Rogers Ferry Road, passed away peacefully June 27, 2019 at Wesbury Retirement Community.
Clair was born in Meadville on May 15, 1927 to the late Joseph and Wilda Jane (Bedillion) Koehler. He married Jean Lipps on June 12, 1948. She preceded him in death on March 26, 1988.
Clair attended Mercury Outboard Motor School in Kissimmee, FL. He served in the motor pool of the United States Army Infantry. He was employed as an auto body repairman for Howick Motors and Lew Davies Auto, a repairman for Outboard Motor and worked for the city of Eau-Gallie, FL. He then worked for Channellock until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially enjoyed sitting on his porch watching the traffic go by.
Clair is survived by two sons; Doug Koehler and his wife, Kathy of Cochranton and Greg Koehler of Meadville; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean; five sisters and three brothers.
Friends and family are invited to call at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA Sunday, June 30 from 1- 4p.m. There will be a service at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Joy Mumford officiating. Burial will take place at Roselawn on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 600 Waterfront Dr. #210, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
