Clarence H. Griggs

Clarence H. Skip" Griggs, age 73 of Meadville, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at UPMC-Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA He was born June 17, 1942 in Meadville, PA the son of the late Clarence R. and Margaret E. Devenny Griggs. He married Mary K. Nigh on September 12, 1964. She survives. He graduated in l960 from Conneaut Lake High School. He was a welder with Carrara Steel in Erie, PA. Skip enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, completing yard work and was an avid NASCAR fan. He especially enjoyed watching the daily news. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary K. Griggs of Meadville, PA, a son: Stephen Griggs and his wife Kim of Quincy, Illinois, three daughters: Kristina Andrews and her husband Christopher of Matthews, North Carolina, Heather Hawn and her husband Brett of Gardnerville, Nevada and Erin Steiger of Conneaut Lake, PA, ten grandchildren: Jaimz Andrews, Jeremy Andrews, Connor Griggs, Katie Pellman, Lauren Cannady, Brandon Hawn, Andrew Hawn, Alexander Hawn, Jaylynne Steiger and Jayce Steiger, a great-granddaughter: Zoey Andrews, four sisters: Barbara Patton and her husband Richard of Meadville, PA, Susan Klinginsmith and her husband Ron of Summerville, South Carolina, Judy Tokich of Pittsburgh, PA and Rhona Glidden of Elmira, New York. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Per Skips wishes there will be no calling hours or services.
