Daniel Newhard

Daniel Robert Newhard, age 86, of Meadville, PA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday September 29, 2026. He was born in Meadville, PA on June 25, 1940, one of five sons of the late Robert and Olive (Crecraft) Newhard. He married his childhood sweetheart, Charlotte Rickert on May 8, 1962. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2024.

Dan attended several one room schools in the area and attended Saegertown High School. He served his country in the US Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. His last assignment was as an instructor at the Navy Guided Missile School Command. After retiring from the Navy, he worked as an electrician at Talon and then moved on to Greenleaf Corporation as a maintenance supervisor where he retired after many years.

He attended First Baptist Church in Meadville, PA.

Dan built their home near Townville, PA. He was an avid hunter. He loved his coonhounds and beagles.

He is survived by his caretaker and granddaughter, Anna Marie Newhard and three brothers, Paul, John and Michael.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle George and a brother, David Newhard.

Dan leaves a special thank you to Holly Lynn Allen, a wonderful Christian lady.

As per his wishes, there will be no public services. He will be laid to rest with his wife at Saegertown Cemetery.
