Daniel Shuffstall

Daniel L. Shuffstall, 63, of Meadville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 surrounded by family at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Meadville on August 2, 1956 to the late Clifford E. Shuffstall and M. Edith Shilling.

He married Desiree LaPlaca on January 8, 1988. She preceded him in death.

Dan attended Conneaut Lake High School and graduated from Edinboro University. Over the years he worked several jobs that involved helping others in similar situations as his own.

He attended Faith United Methodist of Geneva .  He was on the Conneaut Lake Ambulance Board, Community Resources for Independence Board, was the former president of the Board of Erie Independence House and was a member of Vernon Central Hose Company, as well as many others. Dan also enjoyed boating on the lake, traveling to Myrtle Beach, camping and spending time with family.

He is survived by his fiancée, RaeAnn Cottrell of Meadville; three brothers, Lloyd Shuffstall and significant other, Vilma Hall of Conneaut Lake, Bill Shuffstall and wife, Peg of State College and Stanley Shuffstall and wife, Denise of Conneaut Lake; an aunt who was raised as a sister, Doris Burdette and husband, Steve of Sandy Lake; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Per Dan’s wishes, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
