Dave Grinpas, 77 of Cambridge Springs, PA died February 9, 2018 after a battle with COPD and pneumonia. He died at home with family and friends at his side. He was born in Chicago, Ill., on November 5, 1940, the son of the late Joe and Edna Grinpas. Dave was self employed most of his life, and had owned several businesses, the most recent, until his death, was co-owner of Hi-Lite Bookstore in San Diego, CA. Dave was very interested in music and tried to help several young musicians with their careers by setting them up on short tours and sending them to several studios to record their music. He also loved watching sports and had a special interest in boxing, where he had many friends both professional and personal. He loved to attend professional boxing matches with his friends, (always ringside). Most of all he loved life and people. He lived life to its fullest and loved making new friends. He was always there for his friends and helped them out in any way he could. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his friends. He was very kind and generous. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Beth, and his beloved son, Jude. He is survived by his daughters and their families: Christina and Paul Graff of Los Angeles, CA, Ingred Setzler and grandson Jake, from Kansas City, KS, Morgan Grinpas of Cambridge Springs, PA, his granddaughter Harley and Jude’s wife Meg and daughter Angel. He is also survived by his brother Bob and family in Lihue, HA and his sister Lyn and family in Leawood, KS. Dave was loved by many and will be sadly missed. There will be a memorial for Dave on April 18, 2018 at 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Sprague Farm and Brew Works in Venango, PA
