David M. Glenn, 86, of Meadville, PA, formerly of Conneaut Lake, PA, passed away on October 31, 2022, at Wesbury, following a stroke. He was born May 25, 1936, a son of Clinton and Agnes (Patton) Glenn, in New Castle.
After serving in the U.S. Navy and graduating from Gannon College, Dave's professional career began at Crawford County Children and Youth Services, followed by administration of a children's treatment center (The Odd Fellows Home for Children). He was Treatment Director of the Crawford County Drug and Alcohol Program, served on the Crawford County Crisis Team, taught seminars across the country for the National Institute of Mental Health, was an adjunct professor at Mercyhurst College and Alliance College, taught a coping with divorce seminar (with colleague Kathy Berkey), served as Crawford County Commissioner for two terms, led crisis management debriefings for EMTs, firemen and other first responders and had a private marriage and family counseling practice. He was a near lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Conneaut Lake.
Almost all his life work was in human services and that is what he loved- people. There you would find his heart. His most remarkable trait was forgiveness. He had endless patience for human frailties. He will be remembered by many for his sense of humor and his friendliness.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 64 years, Loa (Landers) of Wesbury and his children D. Stanley Glenn (Wava) of Orangeville, PA, Michelle Glenn-Pennino (Ted) of Meadville, and Douglas Glenn (Mary) of New Castle, PA.
Also are his grandchildren Nicholas (Beth) Pennino, TJ (Heidi) Pennino, Brandon (Samantha) Glenn,
Rebecca Glenn (Andrew) Lee, Christopher Glenn, Ellen Glenn (David) Porter, D. Clint Glenn, Meredith Glenn (Karl) Egeland, and Evelyn Glenn (Michael) Thompson, Jr. as well as his great grandchildren Ava, Landon, Layla and Pearson Pennino, Eden, Declan, Silas and Abel Glenn, Jackson and Nora Porter, Jordie Lee, and Joan Thompson.
Additionally, are his brother, James Glenn (Judy) of Fort Wayne, IN, his brother-in-law, Alvin Landers of Avon Park, FL, and his nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his older brother, Clinton Glenn; nephew, David James Glenn; sisters-in-law, Lucille Glenn, Irlene Glenn and Betty Landers.
The family will welcome friends from 10:00 – 12:00 and 2:00 – 4:00 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Conneaut Lake on Saturday, November 12 th . A service will immediately follow.
Memorials may be sent in honor of Dave to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy at 800 Waterfront Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 16522.
