David Lenigan

June 22, 1946 — July 28, 2016

David Frank Lenigan, age 70, of Guys Mills passed away at home on July 28, 2016 after a long illness, he was surrounded by his loving family.             He was born on June 22, 1946 in Meadville, PA the son of the late Frank Lenigan and Anna Pavlik Lenigan. David married Pam Nielson on June 27, 1981. She survives.             David graduated from Meadville High School in 1966. He enlisted in the US Army following his graduation. He proudly served his country in Vietnam with CO. B 864th Engineers and was honorably discharged in 1969. David completed his carpenter’s apprenticeship with Devore Construction, and was a commercial carpenter for Devore, Schick-Matts and Jones Construction until his retirement. David loved all animals with a special passion for horses. He was proud of the establishment of Stoney Creek Farm, and the accomplishments of Docs Tejon both as a world champion performer and sire.             David was a hard worker and took life in stride. He was respectful of others and lived with integrity.               David is survived by his wife Pam, a son Bill Lenigan and his wife Laurie of Meadville, PA, a grandson Kyle Lenigan, a father-in-law Ronald Nielson of Guys Mills, PA.             In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his son Michael, and mother-in-law Thelma Nielson.             A heartfelt thank you goes to Ascera Care for the wonderful staff that assisted David and his family with comfort and kindness.             Calling hours for David will be on Saturday, July 30 from 11 to 1 PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA.
