David Shafer

David Shafer, age 61, of Meadville, PA passed away peacefully on November 3, 2018 after a difficult battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by family and a caring staff at Good Samaritan Hospice of Wexford, PA. He was born August 15, 1957 in Port Trevorton, PA to Alvin and Harriet (Stauffer) Shafer. Preceding him in death were his brother, Daniel Shafer, and his parents Alvin and Harriet Shafer. He is survived by his wife, Alma Rohrer Shafer, who he married on June 23, 1978; their nine children along with their spouses; Kevin and Renae Shafer, Travis and Donna Mullet, David and Karen Gordon, Ryan and Renee Shafer, Philip and Laura Nisley, Davey and Rachel Shafer, Brendon and Emily Stoll, Brendon and Jasmine Shafer and Jared Shafer.  He is also survived by his six siblings and his pride and joy; his twelve grandchildren. David had an unshakable faith in God and loved his family unconditionally, leaving a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who were honored to know him.  His quiet, steady presence will be greatly missed. Calling hours will be held at Pleasant View Alliance Church of Saegertown from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, November 8th.  The funeral service will be Friday, November 9th at 10 am. Care has been entrusted to HATHEWAY-TEDESCO FUNERAL HOME, 614 BALDWIN ST., MEADVILLE, PA.
