Dean T. Baechtel, age 72 of 12198 St. Hwy. 285, Conneaut Lake, Pa passed away on Thursday July 17th at his residence.. He was born on October 26, 1941 in Natrona Heights, PA the son of Thomas Baechtel and Dorothy Miller Baechtel Cloutman. He married Joyce Norris, she preceded him in death. He subsequently married Anna Baechtel in February of 1984, she survives. He was a 1962 Graduate of Har Barck High School in Natrona Heights. He had been employed for 37 years at CSX Transportation, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers 757, out of New Castle. He also had a horse farm, Natures Gate, at his residence. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Dean enjoyed duck hunting, trap shooting and loved traveling, especially on hunting trips. He also enjoyed woodworking, stained glass and working on his farm. Dean loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed spending time with friends at Ron Hart's campground. He was kind, generous and most of all very funny and loved to tell stories. In addition to his wife, Anna, he is survived by a two daughters, Tabatha Wood and her husband Joseph of Conneaut Lake; Deanna Tyree and her husband Dean of Conneaut Lake; two sons, Joseph Baechtel of Natrona Heights, PA and Jeremy DeWitt of Conneaut Lake. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; Shianna, Olivia, Terra, Hayley, Brianna, Wriley, Logen, Seth and Cameran; a sister Gail McCluer and her husband John of Fort Myers, FL. In addition to his parents and his first wife Joyce, he was preceded in death by a daughter Angela DeWitt. Family and friends are welcome to attend a gathering on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. to share memories and celebrate Dean's life at his residence at 12198 St. Hwy. 285, Conneaut Lake, PA.
