Derek Niemann

Derek E. Niemann, age 25, of Meadville, PA passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2020 in Erie, PA.  He was born on September 2, 1995 in Greenville, PA to Scott C. Niemann and Rachel L. (Copeland) Collins.

Derek graduated from Meadville Area Senior High School in 2014 and attended Slippery Rock University.  He served in the United States Army National Guard.  He was a skilled athlete in high school and excelled in football, basketball and baseball.  He also enjoyed watching NFL and NBA games with his brother, Tanner.

Derek is survived by his parents, Scott C. Niemann and his wife, Chris of Linesville, PA and Rachel L. Collins and her husband, Ray of Meadville, PA; two brothers, Tanner R. Niemann of Meadville, PA and Tanner S. Collins, USMC SGT of Jacksonville, NC; maternal grandparents, Dale and Bette Funkhouser of Linesville, PA, paternal grandparents, Frank and Jill Niemann of Linesville, PA, paternal grandparents, Dale and Dorothy Collins of Meadville, PA; aunts and uncles, Lucy Pisani, Ryan and Barb Niemann, Tim and Maria Copeland, Sam and Robin Copeland, Rick and Doris Copeland, Jim and Suzie Laird, Darl and Sandy Funkhouser, Kathy and Van Bowersox, Jim and Mary Powell, Sherry and Marlan Jones, Chuck and Denise Powell, Noreen Lee and Christine Aylsworth and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Copeland; uncle, Vince Pisani; aunt and uncle Connie and Dan George and great grandmother, Dorothy Powell.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 12-3:00 p.m. at Dickson  Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. 2 ^nd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16335.  A service will take place at 3 p.m. with Pastor Nate Alsdorf officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg, PA.
