Diane Jones

Diane Elaine Jones, age 89, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away at home with her daughter by her side on Monday March 21, 2022.  She was born on July 23, 1932 in Teaneck, NJ to the late Oliver Patri and Mabel Munson.  She married Robert Leroy Jones in 1954.  He preceded her in death on January 7, 1978.  They were only married for 24 years, and she lived as a widow for 44 years.

Diane was a homemaker.  She was a member of Smithfield United Church in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was a cat lover her whole life.  She enjoyed caring for her lifelike mechanical cat.  She successfully lived independently from 1978-2022.  She participated fully at Life Pittsburgh and loved winning at BINGO!

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Grace Jones and her husband, Brad Wilson of Meadville, PA and one son, Robert Oliver Jones of Midlothian, VA ; four grandchildren, Cheryl Safer of Dublin, OH, Adam Schoonmaker, Port Jervis, NJ, Casey Jones of Christiansburg, VA and Melanie Jones of Midlothian, VA; three sisters, Marlene Bissas of Whiting, NJ, Ellen Manger of Spring Lake Heights, NJ, Victoria Callahan of Spring Lake Heights, NJ; one brother, Bruce Patri of Whiting, NJ; nine great grandchildren and Bootsie, her mechanical cat.

Diane was preceded in death by her three brothers, Oliver Patri, Robert Patri and Harvey Patri.

As per Diane’s request, there will be no services. She will be interred in North Hardyston Cemetery in Hamburgh, NJ beside her husband.
