Diane Sheckler

Diane S. Sheckler, age 74, of Saegertown, PA passed away at home with family by her side on February 1, 2023.  She was born on January 20, 1949 in Meadville, PA to the late Harry and Nita Grace (Hollabaugh) Pierce.  She married John Sheckler on June 21, 1970.  He survives.

Diane graduated in 1966 from Randolph East Mead High School, where she proudly was the head majorette. She then attended the University of Pitt at Titusville for two years studying nursing.  She graduated from the Practical Nursing Program at the Crawford County Vo-Tech in 1971.  She worked as an LPN at the former Methodist Home (now Wesbury) and she retired from Hillside Home.

Diane enjoyed crocheting, knitting and watching old TV shows.  She also enjoyed riding her horse, Lady and playing cards.

In addition to her loving husband, John, she is survived by her daughter, Becky Hasenkopf and her husband, John of Saegertown, PA; her sister, Teresa Cook and her husband, Dan of Waterford, PA and loving aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Dorothy and Abraham Sheckler.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Diane’s family would like to thank  Dr.Ron Unice, the nursing staff from Interim Home Health Care and the Saegertown Volunteer Fire Department for the wonderful care over the past 12 years.
