Donald G. Johnston

Donald G. Johnston, age 76, of Meadville, PA passed away at Wesbury United Methodist Community on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. He was born June 28, 1937 in Linesville, PA the son of the late Homer and Violet (Wiltrout) Johnson. He married Barbara Widmyer on June 25, 1965. She survives. Donald was a 1955 Graduate of the Conneaut Lake Area High School. He had been a salesman and sales manager for Volkswagen and then a salesman at Weber Harris. He was a veteran of the National Guard and the Army Reserves. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, and a longtime member of the church choir. He was past president of the Vernon Rotary Club. He loved attending horse shows and loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Johnston of Meadville, PA; a daughter, Stacie Simmons of Pittsburgh, PA; four nephews and one niece. In addition his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Johnson. Family and friends may attend a memorial service at 3 PM at the Emmaline Barco Chapel at Wesbury's Grace Health Center, 31 N Park Avenue, Meadville, PA with Pastor David Brumagin of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating.
