Donald P. Krueger, age 84, of Meadville, PA passed away on July 26, 2020 at Meadville Medical Center after a long bout with cancer.  He was born on September 12, 1935 in Meadville, PA to the late Karl and Myrtle (Emmel) Krueger.  He married Marilyn Watt on June 11, 1959.  She survives.

Don graduated from Meadville High School in 1953.    He joined the United States Army in 1954 and served in the 14 th Division in Korea.  He took courses at Penn State to earn his registered surveyor license.  He worked as a maintenance manager for PennDot and did surveying as a side job.

In his free time, Don enjoyed volleyball refereeing.  He was one of only five internationally certified referees in the United States, which allowed him to travel all over the world.  He received several awards for officiating, but he was most proud of officiating the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. He was inducted into the EIVA and PA. Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fames and was awarded the U.S. Volleyball Association’s Referee Emeritus Award.  He also enjoyed roller skating, golfing, hunting and fishing.  He spent many years at his hunting camp in Tionesta and wintering at his home in Dunedin, FL. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and group of golf friends.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, Marilyn, he is survived by two sons, Donald M. Krueger and his wife, Sandy Barretta-Krueger of Meadville, PA and Dale Krueger of Meadville, PA and one daughter, Dianne Kearney and her husband, Todd of Largo, FL; 7 grandchildren, Jesse James (Mallorie) Krueger, Josh (Guess) Krueger, Jennifer Krueger, Alyssa Kearney, Allie (Bradley) Rogers, Jarrad Kearney and Todd Kearney Jr.  4 great- grandchildren and one brother, Karl “Bus” Krueger of Meadville, PA.

Per Don’s wishes, there will be no services held.
