Dorothea Mae Geiger

            Dorothea Mae Geiger, age 89, of Meadville passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.             She was born on April 21, 1928 in Quakertown, PA. The daughter of the late F. Leroy Strunk and Ethel Unangst Strunk. Dorothea was married to Raymond F. Geiger for 58 years. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2006.             Dorothea graduated from Quakertown High School in 1946. Following high school, Dorothea graduated from Allentown Business College in 1948. She was employed for many years as a secretary/bookkeeper at Thermco Products Corporation in Quakertown. She was a member of St. Isidore’s Roman Catholic Church in Quakertown.             Dorothea was an avid reader. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, classic movies, her dogs, and luncheons with friends. Her greatest love in life was her family. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her devotion to family will be passed on. She will be sadly missed.                    She is survived by two daughters: Beverly Graves and her husband Larry of Zionsville, PA, and Linda Harrison and her husband James of Dutton, VA, two sons: David Geiger and his wife  Linda of Meadville, PA, and Michael Geiger of San Diego, CA, six grandchildren: David M. Geiger and his wife Abigail, Mark Geiger and his wife Rachael, Larry Graves and his wife Alyssa, Christopher Graves, Jennifer Harrison, James Harrison and his wife Diana, and one great granddaughter: Savannah Mae Geiger.             In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothea was preceded in death by a twin sister at birth, a brother: Ralph Strunk, a son Raymond Geiger, and a grandson: Thomas Ferrara.             A memorial service for Dorothea will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will take place at Union Cemetery in Quakertown, PA.
