Douglas Dempsey

Douglas Scott Dempsey, age 54, of Meadville, PA passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday July 15, 2020 at Meadville Medical Center.  He was born on January 17, 1966 to Carol (Covell ) Dempsey and the late Theodore Dempsey in Ft. Lewis, WA.

Doug graduated from Meadville High School in 1984.  He attended Crawford County Vo-Tech for the Auto Body program.  He was a self-employed auto body technician.

He enjoyed working on cars and restoring vintage vehicles.  He also enjoyed researching and collecting historic NASCAR memorabilia and spending time with his family.

Doug is survived by his mother, Carol Dempsey of Meadville, PA; his former spouse and the mother of his daughters, Kimberly Ankrom of Meadville, PA; his significant other and mother of his son, Melissa Pearce of Hadley, PA; two daughters, Laura Dempsey of Meadville, PA and Emily Hart and her husband, Danny of Saegertown, PA; one son, Darius Dempsey of Hadley, PA; two grandsons, Benjamin and Ian Hart of Saegertown, PA; one brother, Dennis Dempsey of Rhode Island; one nephew, Jeremy Dempsey of Rhode Island; several aunts, uncles and cousins and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Joshua Dempsey.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday July 18, 2020 from 2-5 p.m. at Hatheway Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335.  Service will take place at 5 p.m.
