Edward Gary Callan

June 19, 1932 — May 30, 2017

   Edward Gary Callan, 84, of Conneaut Lake, Pa. passed away May 30, 2017 at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community.  He was born June 19, 1932 in Wilkinsburg, Pa , a son of Edward P and Leila M (Carney) Callan.     He married Jean A Pittner on July 23, 1955, and she survives.  He graduated from Linesville High School in 1950 and went on to serve in the Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was employed by National Fuel Gas for 38 years and would retire as a Supervisor in 1987.     Ed was very active in youth sports.  He coached Little League Baseball and bowling for many years, and was also involved with the Conneaut Lake football boosters. He donated countless hours and was a mentor to many children.  He was an avid Pirate, Steeler and Penguin fan. Baseball being his favorite.    In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son Bryan (Shirley) Callan of Meadville, his daughter Cindy (Clark) Hinds of Wisconsin, son David Callan of Saegertown, and daughter Julie (Matt) Wasson of Meadville also survived by a sister Helen (Rick) Sansbury of Meadville and many nieces and nephews.     He leaves behind seven wonderful grandchildren, who were the love of his life - Kristina and Bradley Callan, Briana Hinds, Michael and Emily Callan, and Nichole and Ashley Wasson.    He is preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Dorr and brothers Wayne Callan and Kenneth Callan.    A private viewing will be held at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home immediate family.  Reverend Mark Frailey will be the Officiant.  The Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens .    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Conneaut Lake Presbyterian Church, P.O.
