Edward B. Kargol, age 89, of Espyville, PA, passed away Friday, January 31 ,2020. Ed was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 23, 1931, the son of the late John and Mary (Zakrsewka) Kargol.
He was a graduate of Munhall High School in Munhall, PA. He retired from U.S. Steel.
Ed served as a sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War.
Ed was a member of the Our Lady Queen of the Americas in Conneaut Lake, PA.
He was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and most of all, watching his grandchildren play sports. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.
Ed is survived by one daughter, Linda Morell and her husband, Michael of Wentzville, MO; two sons, Ed Kargol and his wife, Sheryl of Saegertown, PA and Ken Kargol and his wife, Suzy of Pismo Beach, CA; nine grandchildren, Michael (Cherly) Kargol, Stephen (Annie) Kargol, Kristen Kargol, Andrew Kargol, Nathan Kargol, Julianna Kargol, Sean Morell(Haley Williams), Allison Morell, and Christopher Morell; five great grandchildren, Bennett Kargol, Logan Kargol, Levi Kargol, Brynley Kargol and Olivia Morell and one sister, Mary Frances McAndrews of Carlisle, PA.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Theresa Kargol and two brothers, John Kargol and Casey Kargol.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 4pm to 7pm at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 North Second Street Conneaut Lake, PA 16316. The funeral will be Tuesday February 4, 2020 at 11:00am at Our Lady Queen of the Americas, 155 South 9 th Street Conneaut Lake, PA. Ed will be buried immediately following the service with military honors in Our Lady Queen of the America’s cemetery.
