Edward Lee Schell

Edward Lee Schell, age 56, of Linesville, passed away at his mother's home in Geneva, PA on September 18, 2014, with his children by his side. He was born August 15, 1958, at Altus Air Force Base, in Altus, Oklahoma: the son of William H. Schell Sr. and Barbara J. Wheaton Schell. Edward was a graduate of Conneaut Lake High School; Class of 1977. He was previously married to Rhonda Allen. Edward was a dental lab technician in the office of Dr. Harrison in Meadville, PA. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1985 until 1994. He earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the Vernon Central Volunteer Fire Department. Edward enjoyed fishing, snow skiing, coaching and watching his children play sports. His coaching included; Conneaut Lake Little Gridders Football, Conneaut Lake Little League Baseball of all age groups at one time or another, and Conneaut Lake Little League Softball. He really enjoyed coaching and being with the kids to help in any way possible. He was often called "coach" and "dad," both on and off the field by many. He also enjoyed watching his New England Patriots, gardening, family game nights, attending every family gathering, and front porch sitting. He loved getting his morning coffee and turning on the country music. Survivors include his mother Barbara J. Schell; his daughter: Amanda P. Schell of Linesville, PA; and four sons: Ryan Schell of Linesville, Bradley Schell and his fiancé Stephanie of Linesville PA, Eric Schell of Linesville, and Mason Schell also of Linesville, PA. Edward is also survived by three brothers: William H. Schell Jr. and his wife Joan of Cochranton, PA, Victor M. Schell and his wife Gail of Springboro, PA, and James L. Schell of Geneva, PA. Edward is also survived by 10 nephews, 8 nieces, 8 great nephews, 10 great nieces, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William H. Schell Sr. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Dickson Funeral Home 130 North Second Street, Conneaut Lake, PA. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday September 22, 2014, at 11 AM with Pastor Howard Roxberry, Certified Lay Speaker of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors conducted by VFW Post 2006, will be in the Geneva Memorial Cemetery.
