Edward L. Thompson, 82, of Meadville passed on February 19, 2016 at his residence. Edward was born in Oil City, on July 4, 1933, the son of Clarence E. Thompson Sr. and Lillian Maloney (Thompson). He was married to Patricia Hollabaugh on October 18, 1954; Patricia survives. He attended Oil City High School, Edward retired, as an account manager after 37 years, from Stroehman Bakery , he then went to work for Vantage for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, and golfing, especially at Whispering Pines and Hailwood, golf courses. Survivors include his wife Patricia, of Meadville; 2 sons Edward L. (Candy) Thompson of Titusville; Jay D. Thompson of Meadville; and 2 grandchildren: Ryan (Alyson) Thompson of Titusville and Patricia S. Thompson of Cochranton. The Thompsons also have 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving is Edward’s brother William R. (Linda) Thompson of Oil City, PA. Inaddition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by brothers:Clarence F. Thompson, and James R. Thompson; a sister Nancy J. Clinger; and an infant son Gregory. Mr. Thompson’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA 16335. Arrangements are private.
