Elizabeth Weber

Elizabeth (Betty) Weber, age 84 of Meadville, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Wesbury United Methodist Community. She was born August 9, 1929 in Meadville, PA the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lula (Perry) Merchbaker. She married Donald Weber on October 24, 1953. He survives. She had attended St. Brigid's School and graduated from Meadville High School. She had been employed at the American Viscose Corp from 1946 until 1953. She also had been employed at Montgomery Ward's for about 10 years during the 70's and 80's. She was a member of St. Brigid's Church, Meadville, Our Lady of Victory Church in Andover, Ohio and St. Phillips Church in Linesville, PA. Elizabeth along with her husband enjoyed traveling. She also enjoyed sewing, playing cards and quilting and making crafts. She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Andover, Ohio She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald Weber of Meadville, PA; two daughters, Paulette Wood and her husband, Terry of Chardon, Ohio and Karen Weber of Bedford Heights, Ohio; a son Daniel Weber and his wife Robin Kays of Linesville, PA; six grandchildren; Christy Ping and her husband Dave, Amanda Porter, Brandon Wood, Nicole Wood, Mitchell Weber and his wife, Jessica, and Douglas Weber; six great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary Lou Hauck of Crystal River, Florida; a brother William Merchbaker and his wife Connie of Meadville, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda Lidgren and Dorothy Wagner; three brothers, Victor Merchbaker, Paul Merchbaker, Raymond Merchbaker. Family and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday from 11 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA. A Christian Burial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory with Father Johnathan Schmolt, officiating. Inurnment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.
