Elonne ‘Lonnie’ Elizabeth Alex, 82, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born February 14,1944 to Allen Alex and Helen Bulazo in Montebello, California. She attended high school in Venice, CA until her father relocated the family to Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Meadville Area Senior High School.
For many years, Lonnie worked as a supervisor at Talon - a job she always recalled with pride. High-energy with a lively spirit, she possessed a great sense of fun. She found humor in every situation and never failed to make others laugh. Known for her vibrant personality, she loved listening to music and dancing to 60s hits. Her many passions included riding horses, gardening, cooking, baking, and reading.
She had a gift for turning the holidays into magical celebrations, leaving her family with a legacy of cherished traditions and memories. A lifelong animal lover, she was an advocate for rescuing, responsible adoption and spay/neuter programs. Above all, her greatest joy in later years was the time she spent with her grandchildren and beloved pets.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Montgomery and Chuck (Mia) Severo; eight grandchildren: Andrew (Todd), Rebel (Alexis), Anthony, Rider, Matthew, Charli, April (Josh), and Kennedy (Chad); five great-grandchildren: Bentlee, Chloee, JJ, Parker, and Kallum; and her cherished chihuahua Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rick Weidler; her brothers, KC, Charles and COL Allen Alex; and her beloved daughter, Heather Mead.
In her passing, she leaves behind a family who will forever miss her effortless humor, infectious laughter, and sharp wit.
Please join us this summer for a Celebration of Life and Fundraiser to benefit the animals at the Humane Society serving Crawford County.
