Emaline Carr

Emaline Carr, age 99 of Meadville, PA passed away on Sunday October 20, 2013 at the Meadville Medical Center. She was born January 3, 1914 in Smithfield, PA the daughter of the late William and Matilda (Hertzog) Martin. She married Merle E. Carr in August of 1930. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1995. She had worked at Talon, and at Meadville Malleable. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Meadville, PA. She raised and sold raspberries and she also owned the Cussewago Kennels. She enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. She liked crocheting and was a great cook and especially enjoyed making jelly. Deer hunting and going to the hunting camp was one of her enjoyments. She liked the time she spent with her family and friends and attending church functions. She was a very generous and a "one of a kind" person. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was the last remaining of a family of seven. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara J. Killen of Chambersburg, PA, and a son, Edward L. Carr and his wife, Rebecca of Meadville, PA, five grandchildren; Steve Carr and his wife, Michelle, Andrea Robinson and her husband, Howie, Jon Carr and his wife, Melanie, Christy Burkholder and her husband, Dave and Megan Cook and her companion, Mike. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Wallace, Willard, and Leroy and by two sisters, Lida and Lizzie and by a niece, Beverly. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA 16335, with Roger Smith of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Radle Cemetery.
