Erma Herman

Erma was a 1933 graduate of Meadville High School. She married John Edgar Herman on December 9, 1939, he preceded her in death after 51 years of marriage. She worked at the Nabisco factory and at the American Viscose plant prior to her marriage, thereafter electing to devote herself to raising her family. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church and Church Women United. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star, serving as Past Matron and organist, and was also a member of Amaranth. She worked as a volunteer at the Wesbury facility; the Stone Methodist soup kitchen and wherever the community needed her. She and her husband retired to Rhode Island where, for several years, she continued to embrace community and church activities and a wonderful cadre of friends. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and to England, but always considered home to be Meadville and her family.
