Ernest “Jim” James Chamberlain, Sr., 86, of Meadville, PA passed away peacefully on June 6, 2020 surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his own home. Jim was like a real life Disney character, who enjoyed feeding his animals outside of his home. He was a strong, intelligent man, a master at skunking people at cribbage, a hunter, fisherman, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great- grandfather and so much more. He truly was a force to be reckoned with, and his silly personality and facial expressions were always ones that were enjoyable. Jim enjoyed life, family and friends and was always there to brighten the lives of others.
Jim was born on April 7, 1934 in Galeston, PA to Earl J. and Gladys P. Chamberlain. He graduated high school in Ulysses, PA in 1952. In his lifetime, he worked as a farmer, bartender, hospital janitor, self-employed carpenter, and then retired from Advanced Cast Products.
He is survived by his loving family; daughter, Virginia “Ginny” Yarnell Davis of Meadville, PA; daughter, Susan Yarnell (Terry) of Meadville, PA; son, Ernest “Jim” Chamberlain, Jr. (Bonnie) of Meadville, PA; son, Joseph Chamberlain (Wendy) of Tranfer, PA; son, Jason Chamberlain (Radka) of Townville, PA; son, Timba Chamberlain (Colleen) of Meadville, PA; 17 grandkids; 13 great-grandkids; 2 great-great grandkids and many nieces and nephews.
Jim rejoins his loved ones; father, Earl J. Chamberlain; mother, Gladys P. Chamberlain; brother, Earl Scott Chamberlain; sister, Jane Hinman and son, Timothy Duke Chamberlain.
May he be blessed in the company of all his friends and family who went home before him. And may all of his friends and family still here be blessed with love, warmth and comfort. You will be missed but not forgotten, Rest in Peace, Poppa!
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
