Esther Jane Cotton Deissler

Esther Jane Cotton Deissler of Meadville, PA passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016.  She was born at home on the family farm in Vernon Township on October 21, 1924, the daughter of the late Alfred and Gertrude Birch Cotton.  She married Bernard Deissler on June 27, 1942.  He preceded her in death on February 4, 1994.             She attended the one room Birch School for eight years, and graduated from Meadville High School in 1942.  She was employed by the Erie and Erie Lackawanna Railroad and Conrail for 40 years.             Esther was a long time member of the Watson Run Church of God.  She was an avid golfer and a long time member of the Oakland Beach Tuesday Morning Ladies Golf League and enjoyed traveling with her friends to Myrtle Beach in the winter to play golf.             She is survived by her sister: Charlotte Andrews of Conneaut Lake.  She was a beloved aunt to her nephew, Ron Andrews and his wife Patty of Meadville, her great-niece Corianne Andrews of San Diego, California, great nephew, Zachary Andrews of Indiana, PA and a great great nephew Ian Andrews of Indiana, PA.  She is furhter survived by  cousins James Cotton of Montana, Jack Cotton of California, Jerry Cotton of Maryland and Tom Cotton of Arizona. Also surviving is her special friend and longtime companie, Ernie Gushard.             Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 – 7 PM and on Thursday from 11 until time of the funeral service at 12 noon with  the Rev.
