Esther R. Phelps

Esther R. Phelps, age 91 of Meadville, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Meadville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Esther was born on February 28, 1922 in Meadville, PA the daughter of the late Joseph and Nicolina Giordano Saputo. Esther was educated through the Meadville School System. She is survived by two daughters, Nicolina J. Lewandowski of Garnet Valley, PA and Kathryn Ann Phelps; by a son, Robert G. Phelps of Meadville, PA, five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Philomena Furno of Meadville, PA. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joseph and Nicolina Saputo, Esther was preceded in death by a sister, Madlyn, and by four brothers, Abie, Carl, Joseph and James. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
