Evelyn L Eakin

Evelyn L. Eakin, 78, of Cambridge Springs, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2019 at the Crawford County Care Center.  She was born on October 12, 1940 to the late, Paul Gow and Viola (Foust) Gow.  She married Richard Lee Eakin on February 22, 1964.  He preceded her in death on February 25, 2017.

She worked at the secretary for Venango Township for 23 years.  She was also a homemaker.

Evelyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cambridge Springs.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, and going to the races with her husband.

Evelyn is survived by two sons, Ralph Eakin and his wife, Connie of Venango, Ron Eakin of Cambridge Springs; five grandchildren, Eric Eakin and his wife Kellie of Venango, Jennifer Wachowiak and her husband, Nick of Cambridge Springs, Reese Eakin of Cambridge Springs, Rhianna Eakin of Cambridge Springs and Riley Stenehjen of San Diego, CA; three great-grandchildren, Levi Eakin, Trent Wachowiak and Lucy Eakin; one sister, Esther Closky and her husband, Donald of Cambridge Springs; one sister-in-law, Carol Ervin and her husband, Dr. Joseph Ervin of Harrisonburg, VA.  She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

There will be calling hours on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Cambridge Springs, 326 S. Main Street, Cambridge Springs, PA.  A memorial service will be held at 4 pm with Pastor Joe Samalenge officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Yolanda G. Barco Cancer Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
