Frances S. Cotton

Frances S. Cotton, 98, formerly of Meadville, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013, at Rolling Fields Nursing Home. Frances was born on June 15, 1914 in Carroll Twp., a daughter of John Schroer and Frances Mertens Schroer. She married Carl R. Cotton on October 11, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 4, 1978. She was a homemaker. She had previously attended the Harmonsburg Presbyterian Church then upon moving to Meadville, she attended the Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include a nephew Lawrence Weisman and his wife Ruth of Albuquerque, NM; one niece Eleanor Willoughby and her husband James of Meadville; many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, three brothers Clemens J. Schroer, Harry Schroer, John J. Schroer, Jr; two sisters Helen Engle, and Mary Kelly, a niece Lillian Spratt, and a nephew Walter Weisman. Her wishes were no calling hours and no service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
